What's on at Island School...
Mask Crusaders - Colour Away Covid
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, a group of current and former Island School students have proposed an initiative to give access to masks in underprivileged communities.
Colour Away Covid is a mask design competition open to all students aged 12 to 18, to be held in June to July 2020. The competition is partnered with Zionberg, a Hong-Kong based mask manufacturer, to produce 100,000 customised masks from one winning design. The team aims to have at least 10,000 of these masks to be donated to communities who cannot afford such masks.
The theme of the competition will be There To Care, as inspired by the ways that communities have stood together in the face of this pandemic. This competition provides young people with the chance to convey what being ‘There To Care’ means to them, whilst promoting a culture of cooperation between corporations and the wider community.Students who are interested in being involved with the competition, can contact Van An Trinh at [an.trinh@online.island.edu.hk] or find out more through this link.
