[New] UBC In-Person Visit to STW Campus for Year 12 - 13 Students

A representative from the University of British Columbia (UBC) will come to the STW Campus on Tuesday 21 September 2021 (2.45pm - 3.30pm at Room A211). Students who wish to make a Canadian University application should try to attend this session.

What's on in Hong Kong...

[New] Surgical Taster Day 2021 by the Student Surgical Association of Hong Kong (SSAHK)

The Student Surgical Association of Hong Kong (SSAHK) is a society established in 2014, jointly run by medical students from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and University of Hong Kong. Since its establishment, the society has been funded by the College of Surgeons of Hong Kong (CSHK) and has registered with the International Association of Student Surgical Societies (IASSS).


The Surgical Taster Day 2021 is an annual two-day event designed for local S4-6 (or equivalent) secondary school students looking to pursue further studies in medicine. It has been a widely anticipated key event of SSAHK and we are looking to recruit a fresh batch of participants for our 7th year of hosting the event. The programme aims to provide participants with early exposure to the medical school life in Hong Kong and the field of surgery through interactions with medical students and surgeons. Highlights of the programme include the Suturing Workshop, Mock “Problem-based Learning (PBL)” tutorial, Histology and Clinical Skills workshop, Surgeon sharings and many more. A certificate of participation will be awarded upon completion of the whole event. Details of the event are as follows:

What's new for HKUST (2022 Intake)

To start with, our online application system will open on 27 Sep, with early round deadline on 19 Nov 2021 and main round deadline on 14 Jan 2022. This year, we are offering a new application choice BSc in Sustainable and Green Finance, leveraging the heightening sustainability concerns and demands for talents in the finance sector.

The Extended Major in Artificial Intelligence will be made available for our business students when they start declaring their majors while an entirely new Extended Major in Digital Media and Creative Arts will also be launched.

Last but not least, we are proud to announce the establishment of HKUST Beyond Academic Admissions Scholarship (BAAS), a new scholarship to absorb our previous two non-academic scholarships and further expand the scope to recognize a much broader spectrum of talents and achievements. Awardees would enjoy a one-off scholarship of HKD 50,000 and favorable admissions offer(s).

HKUST Virtual Information Day 2021

Stepping into a new admissions cycle and the season of preparing students for university studies, we are excited to share with you about our HKUST Virtual Information Day 2021 to be held on Saturday, September 25, from 11:00 to 20:00. You and your students are cordially invited to join this fun-filled, festive virtual carnival with us. Hong Kong Student Film Festival 2021

The goal of the Hong Kong Student Film Festival is to provide a place for inspiration, learning, and connection through the art of filmmaking. If you are a Hong Kong student and you have films in any of the five following categories, consider submitting your film to the festival for a potential reward:

Short Films (500 HKD)

Medium Length Films (500 HKD)

Documentary Films (500 HKD)

Aesthetic Films (500 HKD)

Animated Films (500 HKD)

[New] Medical Doorway - Study Medicine in London

Medical Doorway are delighted announce that applications are now open for the MBBS programme at Brunel University in London. The MBBS offered by Brunel is only open to international students, creating a new pathway for students who want a UK medical qualification. The number of medical school seats for international students in London is at a premium. The Brunel University programme offers a fantastic opportunity for aspiring doctors who want the added convince and experience of studying and living in one of the world's most connected capitals. Applications can be made directly and 100% free with Medical Doorway giving applicants a fifth option in addition to their four UCAS choices. For the 2022 admission, IB candidates should have, or be expected to achieve, a total score of at least 33 points with Higher Level 6 and Higher Level 5 in either Chemistry or Biology and a second science (Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Mathematics). Currently UCAT or BMAT is NOT required. In 2022 five scholarships of up to £30,000 will be available. This will reduce the current annual tuition fee of £41,200 to £35,200 per year for the five years of the MBBS.
