Last Week of the School Year!
Here marks the end of this school year with the Year 11 & 13 Graduation Ceremony and the Awards Ceremonies. Although the COVID-19 pandemic brought us a long period of hybrid learning, our students have done a great job on their learning this year. It's also time to say goodbye to all the graduates and leavers and we wish you all the best in your future. We will update this newsletter again in the next school year. Stay safe, have fun and have a great summer holiday ahead!

The YMCA of HK Camping Section provides unique opportunities for children and youth to participate in variety of exciting camp experiences. Our camps provide positive social interactions, develop confidence and character, and challenge campers and leaders to explore their potentials. We are still planning to run the programme in this difficult time and hope that the pandemic will be eased in summer.

Successful applicants will gain hands-on working experience with children, community service hours, self-confidence, applicable skills in wide range of fields and a network of friends who share similar interests and passion, as well as opportunities in practicing English as our camps are conducted in English. Our organization offers training and mentoring to all of our staff to ensure everyone including both campers and staff take home a fun and rewarding experience.

[New] CA - University of Toronto Enrichment Programs - Online Learning
With the summer months upon us, I would like to take this opportunity to let you know about our exciting variety of enrichment programs for high school students. While we will not be running in-person programs this summer due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are excited to be running our online courses.
In recent years, we have focused on offering Pre-University programs, with a particular focus on developing leadership skills and global citizenship. I’ve highlighted a few potential programs that might be of interest for your students:
1. Global Citizenship Challenge A one-week course in July with a major focus on team-building and problem-solving. Students will be tasked with tackling a global challenge in groups and using the knowledge gained in class to present a final project – this can be great for globally-minded students with various academic interests!
2. Discussions Without Borders A one-week course in July that offers participants the chance to engage in casual conversation with students from around the world in a supportive, inclusive and diverse environment. The class will include both a structured discussion activity and an open conversation in smaller groups, both led by UofT staff and instructors.
3. Perspectives on Global Health This is a 10-week program that takes place on Saturdays with two hours of University of Toronto instruction per week, starting in September. Students focus on developing their understanding of challenges within Global Health through group work (barriers to global health, global mental health, social determinants of health), with the course culminating in a capstone project.
Upon successful completion of a course, all students receive a certificate of completion from the University of Toronto.
Please feel free to check out all our available programs HERE.

US - University of Rochester Online Courses Provide the Advantage of Live Mentorship
“If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” So says Isaac Newton. In this spirit, University of Rochester has designed three online courses that enable high schoolers to explore their passions before college. All courses offer live, online mentorship to guide students along the way. Mentors are themselves students with experience in the subjects covered by the courses. They enrich the learning process by adding first-hand experience and can answer questions about majors and careers in the field. They also brainstorm with students and assist with assignments.
All of our courses are flexible, featuring dynamic, online videos led by professors and live sessions with mentors, so students can study anytime, anywhere, at their own pace.
