[New] 2022 Hong Kong Aspiring Medics Conference

The 2022 Hong Kong Aspiring Medics Conference is a student-run free event aiming to inspire the future generation of healthcare workers and scientists. The conference is scheduled for the 27th of March and will be held virtually on Zoom. We have invited and confirmed a few world-renowned speakers including:

  1. Sir Michael Dixon (Medical Adviser to the UK Royal Family and HRH Prince of Wales as well as Chair of the College of Medicine UK)

  2. Isabelle Wachsmuth (Lead for Arts in Health, World Health Organisation)

  3. Gareth Presch (Founder and CEO of World Health Service and World Health Innovation Summit and member of the Vatican COVID-19 Commission)

We have also invited other reputable speakers who will elaborate on medical research and entrepreneurship. There will also be junior doctors from Hong Kong sharing their career and daily duties, as well as medical students from HKU, CUHK and the UK who will share insights regarding their school life. We believe these talks will enrich students’ understanding on the diversity of a career in medicine and showcase motivational stories and advice from those who have succeeded in the world of medicine.

Furthermore, we are also introducing an art competition with the theme of ‘The Power of Art in Healthcare’, focusing on sustainable and planetary health. The winners will have their piece showcased at the Palais des Nations in Geneva as part of a wider World Health Organization exhibition.

Please find attached the poster for the event. There is no cost associated and the event is also open to parents, who are welcome to attend.

Subject Masterclasses are subject-specific events that offer high-achieving students in Year 12 (S5 for Scotland, Year 13 for NI, or equivalent) the chance to experience typical undergraduate teaching at the University of Cambridge, and to get a flavour of what it's like to be a student here. The events are designed for students looking to apply in October 2022, including mature students.

  • an introduction to the Cambridge admissions process
