Medical Doorway - Study Medicine at Swansea

Medical Doorway are delighted announce a new pathway for international students to study medicine in the United Kingdom.

Swansea University has a fast growing and highly regarded four-year graduate entry medicine programme delivered at their beautiful campus in South Wales. The medicine programme is currently ranked third in the 2021 Sunday Times Good University Guide. Despite the medicine programme being a graduate entry degree, there are pathways available for students coming straight from school. The University has five bachelors degrees which all enable students to progress onto medicine. These are:

  1. Applied Medical Science

  2. Medical Biochemistry

  3. Medical Genetics

  4. Medical Pharmacology

  5. Population Health and Medical Sciences

Students need to complete their first year with an average of 60% or above and then pass the "Doctors, Patients and the Goals of Medicine" module with 60% or above. Students that have achieved this are then guaranteed a medicine interview in the final year of their BSc. This seven-year pathway is ideal for international students who have found themselves without a medicine seat due to the significantly more competitive environment this year.

Applications for 2021 admission are still open and can be made directly with Medical Doorway. This gives applicants the opportunity to secure a conditional offer prior to the release of IB and A-level results. We strongly advise students to submit the application as soon as possible. For more information check out the Swansea University section of our website or e-mail us at hello@medicaldoorway.com.

Students will have the option to publish one of their stories on our Academy’s website, The Terrier , and use this to enhance their college essays or portfolios.

Students interested in visual storytelling can apply for the Photojournalism sessions. Veteran photojournalist Stephen Haines will help students sharpen their camera skills.

No matter what session your students select, they will learn practical skills to apply to any career. Two-week sessions begin on June 21, July 5, and July 19. Students have the option of picking which session(s) they would like to attend.
