Medical Doorway - Study Medicine in Malta

The UCAS deadline for medicine passed on October 15th. Attention now needs to be focusing on the Plan B if an offer is not received. For the last three years attention has focused on the British medical degree offered by Queen Mary University of London in Malta. Applications have been growing year on year and as such this programme has itself become heavily oversubscribed. This has resulted in an increase in the tuition fee to €27,000 for the 2022 enrolment, but most notably a change in the final application deadline. The application deadline has now been confirmed as Tuesday 1st March 2022. This is a significant difference on previous years. It comes one month before UK programmes are advised to inform applicants of their outcomes. This means that applications for the Malta MBBS will now have to be made earlier. Critically, before UCAS applications have been fully assessed. It will not be possible to start an application or submit a pending application after 1st March. Application numbers also up significantly on this time last year and the university has a rolling interview and offer system. We are therefore strongly advising potential applicants to submit their applications now to get ahead and ensure they don’t miss out on an invitation to interview. Applications are 100% free of charge with Medical Doorway and outside of UCAS. Apply using the button below. For more information check out the QMUL section of our website or e-mail us at hello@medicaldoorway.com. Applications can be made here.

UK - University of Warwick - Warwick Economic Summit (WES)

Warwick Economics Summit is the largest student-run academic conference in Europe. Every year WES invite a diverse range of world-renowned speakers to host talks, events and seminars. This year, WES is expanding their outreach to 16-18 year olds to develop grassroots awareness of economics to school students around the world virtually. WES is also a great opportunity to gain a deeper and diversified understanding of economics and its application in the real world, and would make an impressive addition to students’ UCAS personal statements and university applications.

In previous editions, WES have welcomed 2000+ students from over 60 countries, from Africa to North America. This year is the 21st and first ever hybrid edition of the Warwick Economics Summit, which will be held from 4th - 6th February 2022.

Past speakers include:

  • 11 Nobel Laureates, including Joseph Stiglitz, John Nash Jr. and Muhammed Yunus

  • Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission

  • John Ridding, CEO of the Financial Times and Zanny Minton Beddoes, Editor in Chief of the Economist

  • Queen Rania of Jordan, among many others

Interested students may sign up to their mailing list to receive an email when virtual tickets go live. You may find the event brochure here with more details about the scheme. For more information, here’s a link to the webpage for 16-18 year olds.
