Christmas Break is coming!

Here comes to the last newsletter of 2020! This week we have organized the Year 11 & Year 13 Parents Coffee Morning and a Higher Education Workhop (US Focused) for Year 12 Parents & Students. The U.S. Higher Education Workshop has been held on 4th December. We have addressed the following:

What's on in Hong Kong...

HKU - Free HKUMed Department of Surgery edX Course

The Department of Surgery at HKU has produced a mass open online course (MOOC) that will be available for free on edX, and it opens on the 1st of December! It's an introductory course to 15 different surgical subspecialties and has been contributed to by over 30 surgeons from different parts of the world! There are quite a lot of videos to go through but they're only around 3 minutes each so you can work through them at your own pace. At the end of each module there's live sessions with some surgeons who are currently working at Queen Mary Hospital and there's an assessment at the end of the whole course.


HKU - Department of Architecture

As you may know, the HKU Information Day for Undergraduate Admissions 2020 was virtual.

HKUST - Student Athletes Admission Scheme

We had successfully held our HKUST SAAS Online Info Session and met hundreds of prospective students. With our newly reformed SAAS, we expect more student athletes would be benefitted by our conditional offers, scholarship, and many more academic facilitations.

We would like to share some important Info Slides we used during the session. The Info Slides includes both HKUST SAAS details and admissions reminders & tips. Hope that it will further assist your application preparation.

HKBU - Call for Applications: Non-JUPAS Admissions for HKBU Undergraduate Science Programmes (2021 Entry)

The Faculty of Science is now calling for Year 1 Non-JUPAS applications for 2021 entry. The deadline of main round applications is 4 January 2021. We offer a wide range of undergraduate science programmes. Students for Year 1 entry may apply for the following programmes:

  • Bachelor of Science (Hons) (JS2510): Broad-based programme with a free choice of eight major programmes

  • Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Business Computing and Data Analytics (JS2910): The programme co-offered by the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Science and Department of Economics and Department of Finance and Decision Sciences, School of Business

  • Brainstorm what's most important to you and decide what else you want us to know.

UK - University of Essex Parent Information Session

As the UCAS deadline for undergraduate applications approaches, we will discuss a range of issues relating to higher education study in the UK in 2021. We’ll discuss the changing higher education landscape, the changes implemented as a result of COVID-19 as well as funding and scholarship support. We'll also explore how to support students decision making and in making successful university applications, and look at what applicants can expect in the coming months.
